AhlulBayt News Agency - The so-called Islamic State (ISIS) media wing “Al-‘Amaq News” claimed the aforementioned terrorist group downed another Syrian fighter jet in the east Damascus countryside on Friday morning.
Based on the report released by Al-‘Amaq, the Syrian M1G 23 fighter was shot down by the ISIS fighters near Tal Dakwah in the Dumayr countryside.
ISIS claims they captured the pilot and even released his personal information via Al-‘Amaq.
The pilot was identified as ‘Azzam ‘Eid from Hama City – no photo or identification card was presented by the terrorist group to validate the claim.
The Syrian government corroborated the story; however, they alleged that the aircraft crashed as a result of technical failure – they did not mention the pilot was captured.
If the story proves true; this will be the 2nd time in 3 weeks that ISIS has downed a Syrian fighter jet.
